Copy Space AddOn for Confluence OnDemand
The Copy Space AddOn for OnDemand brings the key functionality of the popular OnPremise AddOn to OnDemand.
The Copy Space AddOn will copy:
- page hierarchy
Finding the AddOn
- Click on "Space Tools" in the lower left hand corner
- Click on "Overview"
- Find and click the new "Copy Space" tab
The current AddOn does have a limit of 500 pages to copy. We set this while attempting to gauge traffic. If you need a larger copy allotment please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Welcome to your new space!
Confluence spaces are great for sharing content and news with your team. This is your home page. Right now it shows recent space activity, but you can customize this page in anyway you like.
Issue: 502, 504, 200 errors
Basically these errors are coming from the Atlassian Confluence server - most likely a proxy server issue where it is rejecting some of our requests because the server is getting too many requests.
We have raised this issue with Atlassian here but I think they've punted on it for the moment:
We HAVE been able to figure out a work around with our other "copy page tree" add-on, but we need to update the same code in "Copy Space".
You could try using the "Copy Page Tree" add-on for the time being until we're able to update the add-on to work around the platform issues:
You'd just need to take the extra steps of:
1) creating the space
2) running the copy (which you'll need to anyway)
3) switching the space's "home page"
We are working on the updates to CopySpace, but we have to work around limitations and what manifest as bugs in the Confluence platform as evidenced by the ticket above.
Issue: AddOn Permissions Not Set
Getting this: "Error: The application was unable to serve your request: com.atlassian.confluence.rpc.RemoteException: You're not allowed to view that page, or it does not exist.”
The error might look like this:
This is most likely because the AddOn's user "Copy Page Tree" does not have sufficient permissions for the operation. Please update permissions for that user to read/write the page tree.
Please make sure the AddOn has "Use" permissions under Administration ---> Global Permissions as in the screenshot:
"Documentation Blueprint" issue:
Spaces created with the "Documentation Blueprint" do not copy (nor let you roll back history). We've reported a related issue here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-33246
