"Scroll Page title macro" not working with Copy Page Tree in Confluence

Freshdesk Ticket # 2735 - Hi everyone,

I want to use Confluence to have a tools-set of pages ready which contain basic blocks ready for future proposals. That way, the proposal process shall be lightened and eased up.

To realize that, I want to use the "Copy Page Tree" functionality to copy the whole tree of existing pages and let the copy be adjusted afterwards by the sales team. During this copy process, the pages' titles, e.g. "Toolset - Page 1", shall be changed to the Proposals Title, e.g. "Proposal1 - Page 1".

Each of the origin pages contains a "Scroll Pagetitle" macro, which replaces the page's title by some other text, when exporting the page tree to a Word document.

When executing the Copy Page Tree functionality, the target's titles are changed as desired and the pages still contain the macro, when editing the page.
When executing the Export to Word, the Macros are not used and the titles are not replaced in the Word document.

After talking to the macro developers, we think, that during the Copy Page Tree (XML export and import ???) process, the macros are copied as text and not recognized by Confluence as macros afterwards.

Is there a way to solve that issue?

As a workaround, try to edit the affected pages. It is important that a new page revision is created, because this causes the content properties from the Scroll Pagetitle macro to be 'assigned' to the page.

Follow these steps:

  1. Add some text.

  2. Save the page.

  3. Immediately delete the text.

  4. Save the page again.

  5. Try to export the content.

Then the page title from the Scroll Pagetitle macro should be used.

Hi Brendan,

yes, Summit was great, a lot of work but fun, too. As it was my first Summit I really enjoyed it. Maybe we can have a chat next year.
Currently only one customer reported this issue, I’ve just referred him to the mentioned issue.
It would be great if you’ll be able to fix this

Hi Nils,

Hope you had a good time at Summit!

Yes I do have a tracking issue: https://artemis.atlassian.net/browse/CPT-4

I've linked it to this issue.

How many of your users have reported this? I'm just curious. I will try to get it fixed regardless.
