Allow 'Multi Excerpt Include' to be displayed as inline or on a new line

Right now only 'Multi Excerpt Macro' have option to be displayed on new line or inline. So it doesn't matter what option we select the 'Multi Excerpt Include Macro' will be displayed on a new line anyway.

We track issues with Confluence - Cloud rendering of macros (particularly the MultiExcerpt Include macro) in bugs that are in the MEPOD project:

: there are several open bugs for MultiExerpt-Cloud related to styling/rendering by Atlassian Confluence.

The biggest issue is that Atlassian does not provide an API to apps/plugins/macros for determining if the page is an old-style or new-style page and they do not provide an API to get the styles of the page. We are tracking these issues w/ Atlassian.

For example,
"inline fast excerpt and include macros are a different font and font size than other page text"

Hi Brendan,

I’m on Confluence Cloud. Do you have a ticket that is specific to the Cloud version?

Can you please verify if you're on (A) Confluence Cloud or (B) Confluence Server ? This issue is categorized as Confluence Server, but want to double check based on some of the comments.

How long must we wait on a solution. It’s getting frustrating. I see that you have since more include options but they don’t work well. Is it just complicated to build Confluence macros?

If I wanted to repeat a specific value across multiple pages, I thought I could use the Multiexcerpt Fast Include (Inline) macro, but noooo it just results in a very messy page.

  1. The included text is misaligned with the rest of the line (appearing similar to super-scripted text).
BTW, I tried marking the macro with a super-script and it marginally improved the alignment. But still unacceptable.

  2. The text is padded with about 30 trailing spaces. Not really that inline!

It’s unusable.

Sample: The excerpt is “2019.1”
