outdated multi-excerpt won't update & multiexcerpt not found


The multiexcerpt macro is returning this error message whenever anyone tries to use it:

"Multiexcerpt "test" not found. Note that nested multiexcerpt macros are not supported."

Note that it does this even though no nested macros are being used. "Test" is the test name I used to check the macro's functionality.

Additionally, it appears that our issue of Confluence is running 1.0.0. No option to update the plugin to the current version appears on our add-on. I suspect that the two issues are linked. Is this a known issue that can be resolved?

Frustratingly, I've identified that it didn't work because the Multiexcerpt needed to be created and saved. Previously, I had been previewing the Multiexcerpt when this error was being generated.

I'm receiving the same error message, even when nested multiexcerpts are not used. I've not been able to use Multiexcerpt since we installed the trial.

Hi Brendan

The macro appears to have stopped working again. I am getting the message:

Multiexcerpt "Test" not found. Note that nested multiexcerpt macros are not supported.

I have checked the user permissions and they are okay this time.

Thank you Cherie for that information.

Atlassian has evolved how permissions work for Cloud and I've never seen or been able to find any documentation on this despite searching and asking.

OK I believe the issue here is that the "add-on user" did not have permissions to read (and possibly write) content.

Peter let me know if that solves your issue as well? In this case the user "addon_biz.artemissoftware.confluence.multiexcerpt.MultiExcerptMacro" needs to have read/write access to all the content being read and written.
