Add support for including inline comments on excerpted content

Description

Support for Confluence OOTB inline comments being viewable on excerpted content.

  • Create a MultiExcerpt with text in it

  • publish the page and add inline comments to some text in the excerpt

  • Create a page with a MultiExcerpt Include on it, including your test excerpt

  • publish the include page and notice that the inline comments are not included (this is the feature to be added)

Note about MultiExcerpt-Cloud:
In Cloud you can't comment on macro content so no comments would ever exist on excerpted content.

Hi Brendan,

No worries. I saw the status was changed to “Selected for Dev” so I though it was moving along based on that.

Hi ,

Thanks for the question. Apologies , I'm a couple days behind on providing additional specs and answering the latest questions.

The ability to actually add 'new' comments directly to included content on the destination page of where it is included is not something we've spiked. To get that working we'd have to actively override existing Confluence behavior and such an implementation would be relatively complex even after the override. It is theoretically doable but might be an order of magnitude more expensive and time consuming than the other features I've spec'ed out for Apple.

I will provide more details on later this week.

Cheers,
Brendan
