keep multi-excerpt linked after renaming page

It is important that multi-excerpt does work similar to linking of pages. If a name of page changed the multi-excerpt-include macro should still keep his linked content.

As we use several contents of one page also on other pages it is a hard job to follow up if one page name has changed.

If it is not possible to do so than multi-excerpt should at least support pageID to be used instead of pageTitle or pageName

Transitioning issue to Closed in preparation for moving issue from old project CMEPOLD to new project CMEP. Don't want to lose sight of issue in case it's still valid.

We are experiencing the same problem; when renaming a page with an embedded MultiExcerpt macro, the including macro can no longer find the page.

Please fix this a.s.a.p. - We plan on literally bombarding our Confluence pages with MultiExcerpts in the very near future and desparately need support for page renaming.

changed my mind, reopening, I will look more into the pageId because I know this would make it super annoying to change page names. I'm sure this will only take about 4 lines of code....but finding the right 4 lines will probably still take a few hours

Well, most of the plug-ins do work since 3.5.1 – Iguess that the there is something missing in your plugin, that blocks this capability. eG. metadata, info, tip etc used to do that too and since 3.5.1 it works. Prior this version of confluence it was a bug since 2.9 but now its malfunction of those plugins who can't update due to the structure they use. have a look at those plugins and find out why those do work.

Hi Klaus,

Resolving a few dozen issues today. I reviewed this and its the same behavior for the Confluence excerpt macro - change a page name does not propagate.

I still think this would be a very nice feature, but it's currently outside my core scope (core scope is basically: do what the Atlassian excerpt macro does + multiple excerpts + across spaces).

If you're still interested in this I can estimate the effort involved and give you a quote.
